Seaside and Cannon Beach, Oregon Coast September 2013

While the Storm Commander is out on a hunt, I thought I (Lt. Dan) would share a few pics I snapped on my recent trip to the Oregon coast...

I don't know much about wind pushing clouds into wall clumps, but my best guest says that the Ocean winds pushed the clouds up into the higher elevations, where they just hung there menacing. It was pretty neat to see.

Cannon Beach is known for its giant Haystack (intertidal) Rock. The tide was out, so we were able to get up close and check out the tide pools full of stuff. A nice lady found us a Hermit Crab to play with, and I saw a dead seagull (that looked like he was out partying all night long, I regret not snapping a picture.)

On Seaside beach towards sunset, we saw an amazing rain cloud do some things. It was awesome, as the sun was reflecting everywhere, even off the sand. They say fall is a great time for the Oregon coast, and that is now confirmed.

At Ecola State Park (between Cannon and Seaside) there is a great look out spot. Even with a bad camera on me, a good shot was made. I also filmed about a minute of the sea doing its thing (I wish I didn't pan around though, kind of ruined it.)

Last, but not least, I caught an amazing Swing Set fail. I was really just test snapping a shot, I didn't realize a guy kissed the sand until I got to the hotel.
