Christina called this one when she opened my door and saw a wall of death heading out direction.  The second she said "lightning" we hoped into my car and drove to the below field.

It was a beautiful wall cloud but we could only see it after being in the dark so long.  You can see the black monster in the lightning flash below.

If Christina didn't see the flash I would have missed this quick mess of stinging hail and bolts.

the toy museum provides rare shots

the following is from local museum curator and blog veteran the toy museum aka Stormtrooper Dan.  Logistics are impossible to replicate.  To sum it up when push came to shove the toy museum grasped his camera and swung it towards his window with the record button pressed and electrical magnetism taking place.

It's a fact that daytime captures are impossible, these are the only daytime 2012 idaho bolts i've seen on the intro net.  Rare and invisible for the most part, it takes a 6th sense to provide these shots for my 2 followers, 1 of which provided the shot.

Everyone bow your head and visit thetoymuseum.blogspot.com

first lightning bolt capture of 2012!

for this bolt i starred at a radar, then out the window, then back at the radar because what was out the window was weak gray and the radar showed an occasional bolt.

as soon as i heard thunder i got in my car and drove to a clear area, pointed my camera in record mode (complete guess, no bolts to go off of) and got this capture

This vid has some audio from someone else who saw this same bolt and called me to make sure i was on it, stormtrooper brian is always looking out

cloud assembly line

Idaho has been surrounded by storms for the past week but not one of them went through.

When that day finally comes I will be ready

lightning bolt capture december 2011 idaho

sub par lightning capture?
yes.  at first glance...

there is a bolt reflection in the window and my fingers in the top left sheilding my face and camera from the stinging hail.  Which raises it from a 2 to a 5 out of 10.

sunset and fog lapse

i saw my first bolt of the year today. thetoymuseum.blogspot.com
texted me that there was minor thunder.  i watched the storm go by and a flimsy micro bolt of lightning (while my camera faced the wrong direction).

this content is a couple days old but it's still this week.
